It isn’t fatal, but it isn’t looking good for my WordPress Plugin, Twitter Digest. Because of Twitter’s requirement for authentication, even for publicly available data, it won’t be easy for Twitter Digest to access v1.1 of the Twitter API. v1.0 was deprecated this past week, so no digests can be produced anymore. I’m trying to find a work-around, but not sure if there is one. You can follow the discussion thread on the Twitter forums, assuming anyone answers my inquiry.

While not my first choice I would be willing to “set-up” my own twitter “app” to authorize & use this plug-in. I’ve had to do it before with the old twitter tools plug-in or Facebook tie-in or something…
Thanks for the feedback Mike. That looks like what I’m going to have to do. Hopefully I’ll get to it this week.
I was just checking my twitter “apps” and saw the “SocialProxy” by MailChimp. It is tied to the “Social” WP plug-in the the updated Twitter Tools uses (the new Twitter Tools plug-in I’m no longer using since they dropped the digest requires the Social plug-in to work). I wonder if you could do the same and use the existing “Social” plug-in to authorize… Since it’s someone else plug-in it might not work/be easy & I understand, it is just a passing thought…
Hi, I’ve been using your plugin for quite some time now and like it a lot! Thanks a lot for all your effort! I agree with Mike’s first comment: Setting up your own “app” is somewhat crazy, I admit, but I would do it if necessary. Best! Daniel
